i think that second option is better cuz it's not fair if in one team would be all best coders ... i think it's the best to system automatically assigns teams by rating or something like that ...
- Teams must have >= 3 and <= 5 members - Each member must have solved at least 10 problems on the training part. - Each team will have a captain (the one that created the team) and the prizes will be sent to him. So naturally, the team should be from the same location, preferably people that know each-other.
i don't agree that second option is better...i haven't seen yet any team contest where you have "unknown" team mates..and first option is better too, because of same location of team members..
I think the second option is a pretty cool idea. Some people might be interested but not know at least two other in their area/country. Plus we get to meet other programmers from different countries and team up for a common goal.
just an idea, to combine both options, so everyone register for contest, and when somebody makes team, he can invite people, and those who don't get invited make new teams automatically random ...
